My brother and I bought this Jeep from a rancher in Carbondale, Colorado in 1995. It had been stored in the barn for some 20 odd years.  The Jeep was originally from Illinois. The ranch caretaker had put it out on the road for sale (under orders from the owner, who lived in Chicago).  My brother stopped to look at it and the sale sign said $3,000.  No way.  He noticed sometime later that it was gone, so he got curious.  He stopped one evening after work and asked about the Jeep.  The rancher said it was back in the barn, no one wanted it.  A few weeks later I came home on R&R from an overseas assignment and we went to look at it, offering the rancher $1500 cash.  The rancher called a little later telling us we bought a Jeep.  We split the cost and drove it home that afternoon. There's a story about this Jeep in Trail Tales. The first four pictures are from that trip.

This Jeep will be restored to its original military configuation as much as possible.  Condition of the frame, drive train and body TBD.  It has been converted to 12 volt by the previous owner.  And there's a broken exhaust manifold stud that I know will give me more grey hair.  I do not trust my memory to say any more than that.

To the best of my knowledge the drive train, body and accessories are entirely original. This Jeep has the F-Head 4-cylinder engine.
